Pampus after renovation and conservation.(2008)

The first renovation of the roof failed, it was as wet inside the fort as before. This year (2010) a second attempt was made by another contractor and it now looks like it has succeeded. At least it is now dry inside the fort. Ten inches of reinforced concrete has been poured on the flat part of the roof. Triflex was then applied over that and the rest of the roof. The finish was done with dark grit material so that it actually has the original color of before. Back then, bitumen was smeared over it. On April 25, 2008, the fort was officially reopened by Professor Meester Pieter van Vollenhoven by spraying one of the new domes with a fire hose to indicate that the roof is now leak-proof.

See below the result as of the end of 2010.
